A beautiful example of an English rosé, this wine has a wonderful colour to it, with a fine persistent bead of bubbles opening up a nose of gentle yeast and blackcurrant leaf. The ensuing palate begins with a creamy mousse which opens into a light fruitiness. Excellent balance of fruit and acids make this a serious contender for one of the top wines in the country.

I love this wine. It's a delicate and beautifully fruity example of what we can do here in England. The winemaker, Owen Elias, has surpassed his former glory (countless winemaker of the year trophies sit in his cabinet), and created a dashing wine. I love the balance of the pinot's fruit and sweetness, counteracting the delicate charm of the citrus acidity from the Chardonnay. Pushing the boat out this Christmas is definitely worth it for this splendid drop...

Hush Heath Skyes English Chardonnay 2010

With only 1900 bottles produced of this delightfully crisp Chardonnay, created very much in Chablis style helped by the fact that the same soil types underlying this famous region of Burgundy also run through this area of Kent. The wine is an intense pale green straw colour, un-oaked and pure. In the glass it is clear and bright with a pleasing viscosity giving a rich mouth feel. It has an elegant backbone of steely acidity, very pure, lemon rind and green apple notes and slightly saline finish.

Hush Heath Nannettes English Rose 2010

Nannette’s English Rose is an elegant rosé made from the same Champagne varietals as the Balfour Brut Rosé (75% Chardonnay and 25% Pinot noir). First made in 2009, this second vintage is lighter in style and alcohol. A delightful Provencal style of colour - pale apricot with copper hints - and it is clean and floral on the nose. The palate shows fresh English acidity with hints of wild strawberry and stone fruits. It has a refined, elegant finish. An excellent aperitif or matched with fresh English river fish such as salmon or trout and light cheeses.
