Danebury Vineyard's Cossack 2005 is a delightfully toasty wine made from 95% Auxerrois (a sibling of the Chardonnay grape) and 5% Rülander (aka Pinot gris). The nutty, biscuity nose is followed by a not overly fizzy mousse of delicate bubbles. The palate is fresh and has a good backbone of acid (from the Auxerrois) and a suitable fruity sweetness which rounds the wine off to be ideal to be served with food - cheese and biscuits, for example.
Awards
The Danebury Vineyards Cossack 2005 won a bronze medal in the International Wine and Spirits Competition 2012. A superb accolade for a delicious wine.
